Yes, I have another blog that very few people know about. I have kept it secret because it’s a touchy topic for me: Fitness and Nutrition. It’s been about 18 weeks for me on this program. I’ve lost 22 pounds so far. My goal is to get healthy and lose an average of one pound per week. I don’t want to do it faster, because I don’t want to make myself nuts. I travel quite a bit and I eat out a lot. I need this program to be sustainable for me.
Anyway, the blog gets updated a few times a week. The posts and short and light, yet self-reflective. I post a lot of photos. I figure some of my kinky readers may be interested to follow along or maybe even join me. The blog even has an RSS feed and an option to subscribe via email.

Saturday night, a group of us from Sex 2.0 went to dinner at Chrisfield’s. The conversation was lively and fun.

Kate Bornstein, Barbara Carellas and Mollena Williams
Service was slow so I got to the Cinekink screening a little late. But I loved the films that I did get to see. Afterward, Match, this year’s Sex 2.0 organizer, modeled the new boy panties that he bought from St. James Infirmary.

Match then said he would put on his frilly panties if he could find someone to wear the boy panties. We found a volunteer.

Match modeled the frilly panties.

Match also explained his secret for keeping his balls inside the panties. “You go to a gay shop and buy a Nasty Pig jockstrap and put that on underneath!“

Afterwards, we headed up to Vera’s room. There were about 30 people crammed into a little hotel room. Vera had created a bunch of buttons for her business, For Your Nymphomation, and had lots left over. She put them in a sack and passed them around to play a game. Buttons imprinted with Top, Bottom, Sub, etc meant you had to tell a story about that role. One button meant that you had to spin a bottle to kiss someone; another button meant you had to kiss Vera. One button meant that you had to flash your private parts; another button meant you had to take off a piece of clothing (next time Vera will wear not wear a dress). Another button allowed you to pick someone with whom you could spend two minutes in the closet . You’re probably thinking that this all sounds very junior high school. So, maybe it was. But it was a hoot. I had a lot of fun!

The big event on Friday night was Porn & Brownies, hosted by
Cunning Minx. Nobody was really watching the porn, because we were all too busy saying hello and catching up with folks.
Viviane and I went to bed a bit early because we were really exhausted. Of course, right after we left, the sex got started. We know because while certain people were having sex, others pulled out their phones and twittered it. Once you get outside the BDSM community, it seems that there is no expectation of privacy. It’s a different world.

Melissa Gira Grant
The actual Sex 2.0 day began at 9:15am Saturday morning with a keynote speech delivered in a “This American Life” style with Audacia Ray as Ira Glass and Melissa Gira Grant as David Sedaris. Melissa spoke about her relationship with one of the fathers of the internet who also happened to be the father of the boy she was dating at the time. I loved the story and how it was told. However, I was confused that she also mentioned that she felt uncomfortable and like she didn’t fit in at the event. I felt like it was an odd statement to include and it actually made me feel uncomfortable. I know there was some behind-the-scenes griping, but I never knew exactly what that was about. For me, the weirdness quickly dissipated as I participated in the workshops and met more people.
My favorite class was the one that I requested during the planning of the conference: “Podcasting 101” with Nobilis Reed & Ellie Lumpesse. This session was jam-packed with great info. I may start podcasting! The two other classes that I particularly liked were “Craigslist Red, Craigslist Blue: Why we should dismantle the ‘internet red light district’” with Melissa Gira Grant and Joanne McNeil and “Revisiting Naked on the Internet” with Audacia Ray, Furry Girl, Melissa Gira Grant and Amber Rhea.
The vendor area was hopping. I got a chance to meet Erik Van Riper from SexToy.com, who is one of my blog’s sponsors. I also donated my huge collection of hotel toiletries at the H.I.P.S. table, where they were collecting for sex workers in need. I also bought a really cool T-shirt from the folks at St James Infirmary. Other vendors included NCSF, WholeDC and ForYour Nymphomation.

Babycakes Bakery
(Yes, that’s Rachel Maddow’s photo on the counter!)
When I originally heard about Babycakes, I sent the link to Rita and told her we needed to go here the next time she visited NYC. This bakery makes items that are refined sugar-free, gluten-free, wheat-free, soy-free, casein-free, egg-free, vegan and kosher. With these limits, you might think their item wouldn’t taste so good. But OMG! Soooo yummy!

Rita loved her pumpkin cupcake.

This is my half-eaten oatmeal-raisin cookie sandwich
with vanilla frosting. Oh yeah!

I am off this weekend to Sex 2.0 which is an unconference type event focusing on the intersection of social media, feminism, and sexuality. It’s a different kind of event for me. I am really looking forward to learning, seeing friends and meeting new people.

I’ll be spending an extra day in DC. On Sunday evening, I’ll be at WholeDC teaching a class on Erotic Spanking.

“So, let’s get together for a meal at the event,” I suggested.
She gave a sidelong glance at her partner, and then spoke to me. “I don’t think that’s a very good idea. Whatsname will be there.”
“Oh, okay, then some other time.”
“Yeah, I’m sorry, but, you know…”
“Yeah, I know. S’okay. Don’t worry.”
