Felice Shays has been a part of the NYC scene for many years. She worked hard as an educator at LSM, Babeland, TES and more. She put a lot of sweat into revitalizing LSM and made ASL interpreting of our events there a priority. She was always hosting play events like Submit. A lot of people will miss her. She’s moved to Portland.
Why would she move to Portland? It’s a beautiful city, but Felice is such a New Yorker? The answer is Venae!

I love when out-of-towners come to NYC. I get to do the touristy stuff like the CircleLine boat trip around Manhattan. It’s been years since I’ve been on it and the tour has been updated with stories about Flight 1549 and other stuff.Rose and I enjoyed the sunny day and each others company.
Being on the water gives me a whole different sense of the city. I especially love all the bridges.
Which reminds me. I want to take the free IKEA water taxi and visit the Red Hook Ball Field Vendors again soon.

Midori‘s in town! Selina and I went to see her “Art of Sensual Feminine Dominance” class at the Museum of Sex last night. Midori really knows how to teach to various audiences in a way that they can grasp the topic. I came away with some fresh inspiration into my own play.
Afterward, we all went to Planet 212 for some Thai and sushi. Very yummy!
You can catch Midori tonight teaching “Aural Sex: Seduction by Voice” or Thursday night teaching “JoyStick Secrets: How to Thrill a Man.” Both classes are held at The Pleasure Chest.

I attended my first Shibaricon weekend and I had a great time. I traveled and shared a room with Viviane and, once again, she proved herself to be a great travel buddy.
I went to a lot of classes and learned a lot of new ways to tie. Almost all the classes had a lot of hands-on practice so we really got to do everything. I went to Lee Harrington‘s beginner class with Viviane and she tied me up. There were a lot of great riggers getting tied up in the beginner classes.
I also went to Tony Buff and Derek DaSilva’s class, One Rope, Two Knots, Three Ties. When Tony Buff asked for a demo bottom, I raised my hand and cried “Ooh ohh!” (just like Horshack). It was a crazy fangirl moment and he picked me. Swoon! After that, I did some tying in their Partial Suspension Rigging For Play class.
My favorite classes were with Mike West. That guy is hot and he really knows his shit and he is a very good instructor as well. I learned a lot of neat things from him. I also took a class with Scott Smith and did my first inverted suspension.
There were also some private teaching moments. Julia showed me a couple of neat tricks that she learned from Mark Yu‘s class. I taught someone else how to do various cock and ball bondage ties. One funny moment was when I did a helicopter. She was freaked out by this and worried about her partner. I took one look and said, “Nah, look at how hard his cock got from that. He liked that best of all!” She looked at his big hard-on and was surprised yet very happy to see that. Hard cocks don’t lie!
The dungeon was open three nights and had great bondage equipment. I played a lot. I’ll most likely be telling some of those stories in a later post(s).

There’s a group of us and we are sitting in a restaurant. There is much camaraderie and everyone is having a good time. And then a phone rings.
The phone is fished out of a pocket, the owner looks at the screen to see who it is and answers it. Conversation at the table comes to a dead stop. Well, all conversation except for the person on the cell phone. We sit frozen in silence as the call goes on for too long. It’s not like we are listening in, but people talk louder on a phone and we do not want to talk over the call.
I understand that the phone call may be important, but the one-sided call is dominating the table. We wait. I seethe.
This is just plain rude. If you are sitting with a group and have to take a call, then just get up from the table and walk away with the call. Let us continue our conversation. We should not be subjected to this. When you are done with your call, just come back and rejoin the conversation.
This has happened on more than one occasion and with different people. When it happens again, I will interrupt and tell them to take it outside.
