On Friday night, Neptune and I went to The Venom Club in East Farmingdale, NY (http://www.thevenomclub.com/). This was about an hour drive with no traffic out to Long Island. At the door, we were charged $30, the regular Friday night couples rate (Saturday nights are $40 per couple). Since the TES website lists the club as offering a discount to TES members, we told him that we were TES members and asked for our discount. We were told that there was no discount for TES. The man at the door was not very welcoming to us.
We checked out the space. The big main room was divided into a social area and a play area with about a half dozen pieces of equipment plus two hoists. A smaller room in the back had about 4 pieces of equipment and we chose the cross to play on.

There were about 7 people in the club besides us. All of them were sitting at a table eating and drinking nonalcoholic beverages. They sounded like they were having a good time. We heard their talk and laughter over the eclectic mix of music that was playing. The back room had no music and the predominant noise was the talk and laughter. It was not very conducive to play.
We won’t be returning to the Venom Club. It’s not worth the trip.

My writing in the P+P is copyrighted. Usually when someone wants to repost something, somewhere I do give permission as long as my name and copyright is attached and subscription info is given.
It makes me crazy when I write to someone who posts my stuff to an email list and I get an answer like this: “I posted the article out of admiration for what you wrote disrespect was not even in the room .Furthermore, Since I did not take any credit for the writing of the article there is no question of copyright violation of any kind. Keep up the good work.”

Yes, it is a copyright violation. Please don’t do it. Ask me first.

The Communications Decency Act (CDA) trial date has been set for October 27-29, 2004, at the United States District Court in New York City. Plaintiffs Barbara Nitke and the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom are contesting the remaining CDA provisions allowing “local community standards” to be used to define obscenity on the Internet. These provisions were not the subject of the 1997 Supreme Court challenge, ACLU vs. Ashcroft.

“The CDA allows one community to limit what the entire nation is allowed to discuss, to read or to view on the Internet,” says John Wirenius, the attorney for the lawsuit. “That is unconstitutional because the First Amendment does not allow any one locality to impose its morality on the nation.” For more information about the CDA lawsuit, go to: www.ncsfreedom.org

Expert witnesses who will be called and cross-examined include Arthur C. Danto, A.D. Coleman, Jeffrey Douglas, Ben Laurie, Seth Finklestein, Candida Royalle, Tristan Taormino, Charles Moser, Dov Hechtman, Leigha Fleming, and Susan Wright. Their testimony will cover the technological impossibility of complying with the CDA; the artistic and social importance of sexually explicit speech concerning alternative sexual practices; and the chilling affect the CDA has had on artists and writers within the communities served by NCSF.

Plaintiff Barbara Nitke (www.barbaranitke.com) will be making appearances in San Francisco in September for an exhibition of her work, slide show talks, book signings and benefits to raise funds for the CDA lawsuit expenses. Mark I. Chester and Dr. Carol Queen’s Center for Sex and Culture are sponsoring “Sex, Art & Politics,” the series of events on radical sex photography and artistic freedom to coincide with the Folsom Street Fair. For more information on these events, see the calendar below.

Barbara Nitke is president of the prestigious Camera Club of New York, on the faculty of the School of Visual Arts in New York, and author of a book of fine art photographs, Kiss of Fire (Kehrer Verlag 2003). National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) is a national organization committed to protecting freedom of sexual expression among consenting adults.

For additional information, requests for interviews, and publishable press photos contact Susan Wright, Spokesperson for NCSF 917.848.6544, or Barbara Nitke at NitkeMedia@aol.com

>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:< href="http://www.shibaricon.com">Shabaricon). I got him for a bargain basement price of only $20! On Friday night I cashed in and made a date with him to tie me and suspend me! I have been suspended several times but never Japanese style. It was very strenuous – I even broke out into a sweat. MorTis is a cocky son-of-a-bitch, but he is a marvelous rope top, very careful and very caring and respectful.

One of the coolest things about the event is that we had five members of my leather family there. That was even a question on the Scavenger Hunt (actually by Sunday we were six, because Monica (aka my Uncle Nico Boy) showed up. On Saturday night, my family and their play partners took a corner of the dungeon and played together and next to each other. This is my favorite way to play. I love when we play like that and we can look up from what we are doing and see each other in the middle of other scenes.

I had quite the Saturday night! Since Momma Bear and I both had play dates with Susan and Peggy, we decided to co-top them both. “Oh, shit, now we’re really fucked,” said Peggy. We started with Susan. This was a real treat for me because I had never co-topped with Momma Bear. We used canes. In the past co-topping with other people with canes has never worked because of accuracy and timing issues but we got into a really great groove together and it was much fun for all three of us. Momma Bear is a really amazing player. What a treat!

When it was time to play with Peggy, she was having a rough time. The dungeon was a bit cold for play. I did everything I could do to warm her up. I even lit her on fire. But we finally gave up and she went up to bed. Regina was attracted to the fire and wanted to try it so I did a little fire with her, too. It was a cherry. I also did a heavy flogging/whipping scene with someone who left NYC about a decade ago and now lives in Ohio.

It’s about $12/oz. and will definitely restore the scent of leathers. Use it very, very sparingly – concentrated, it will stain light colors and leave oil spots on all shades and black. You can mix the essential oil with wood alcohol or Everclear 190 proof ethanol (LOL) about 1:24 and mist it lightly on the object. Or you can spray it behind your ears and see where that gets you, too.”

Someone else said that they found the following web site for leather scent: http://www.preservation-solutions.com

Cub Spencer (Great Plains BootBlack 2004) says, “If you go to most pet stores or pet departments in larger stores (Walmart) they sell a bag that hangs over a pets “smelly areas”. It pulls the odors out of the air and the walls, carpets, and such around it! It may take a week to notice a difference but it should work the same. (I believe these are mostly charcoal type blends.) I know of a couple of cigar smokers that keep them near their “smoking chairs” at home, and it seems to keep the smell from getting in the fabrics and getting stale.”

**** Thanks to all the bootblacks who helped with this. ****

MASTER SLAVE CONFERENCE

Last weekend, Boymeat and I headed down to Washington, DC to attend the Master Slave Conference. This was a very well run event and extremely well planned. Much of this was due to the slave labor of many great volunteers. The Marriott Residence Hotel in Thomas Circle was wonderful – new, clean and friendly to us.

We arrived in time for the opening ceremonies, which featured an inspiring keynote speech by Steve Sampson. After that we headed over to Hamburger Mary’s for some great burgers with Bearman, Lawrence and David Palm. Afterwards, we went upstairs to Titan’s Bar, where a Slave Auction was being held to raise money for the NE Master/slave travel fund. We got there and I found out that Master John had bought me Kip. We made a date for later in the weekend. Kip brought me coffee and breakfast in bed on Sunday and gave me a really nice massage. Thanks, Master John!

On Saturday, I taught a class on Multidimensional Master/slave Relationships where we discussed how to relate to each other in many different ways while still maintaining a M/s dynamic. I also did a presentation with Boymeat called “Putting A Boy In His Place” which was quite spontaneous and intimate with us talking about our relationship followed up with an actual demo.

I went to a bunch of classes because the program was really outstanding. If there was a common theme that kept popping up in many of the classes, it had to do with whether M/s relationships were compatible with love and/or romance. I think that question will continue to be debated. There is no one right answer for everybody.

On Saturday night, we went to dinner at Kramer’s with Master John and Beast. Kramer’s is in Dupont Circle, walking distance from our hotel. It is one of my favorite restaurants. I was sorry that we missed the Northeast Master/slave Contest. I wanted to cheer Sir Stephen and slave catherine on, but timing was tight and we needed to spend some quality time with Master John and Beast. The activities at these conferences are valid, but sometimes connecting with people who are important to me takes precedence. Anyway, Sir Stephen and slave catherine won without us there and we were very happy to hear about it.

Later, we went to The Crucible to play. Master John and I co-topped Beast. It had been a long time since I had played with Beast and it was good to play again. More classes on Sunday and then we had a meal with Glenda and Amy, A really nice trip!

TONY DEBLASE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

In 2001, in memory of Tony DeBlase, Aubrey Sparks created the Tony DeBlase Scholarship Fund. The goal was to raise $25,000 to create an endowment fund to give scholarships to “students entering the fields of sex education, sex therapy, research or something that furthers the understanding of human sexuality, especially alternative sexuality.”

The fund is more than 90% complete and needs less than $2500. Let’s try to finish it out. Info: http://leatherdaddy.com/scholarship.html

BR XVII – “CELEBRATING OUR ROOTS”

Black Rose has officially announced BRXVII, its annual pansexual extravaganza of programs and play, socializing and shopping. Held at the usual location in New Carrollton, Md., on November 5-7, the entire event – programs, play, and vending – will once again be under one roof. The hotel is under new and more welcoming ownership, and rooms and facilities have been renovated.

Classes will be presented by such nationally known speakers as Catherine Gross, Travis, Jack McG., Jay Wiseman, Vi Johnson, Chris M., Fifth Angel, Lolita Wolf, Joansie, and Glenda Rider as well as local Black Rose favorites such as Rose V., Big Mark, Frazier, Bondage Thomas, Mitzi, and many more. If you’d like to offer to present, send your topic(s), a 50 word description and a 40 word bio to programming@br.org

The opening-night top/bottom auction will kick off the play activities, and, in finest BR tradition, the evening events will benefit this year’s featured organizations: the Leather Archives & Museum and the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom. This year, attendance will be held to a carefully controlled number and BR’s block of rooms in the host hotel will be offered in registration-number order. Info: http://www.br.org

>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:<>:< href="http://www.thunderinthemountains.com">Thunder In The Mountains event was held last weekend in Denver with a dynamite line-up of presenters and a huge fabulous dungeon. I had a great time. I lucked out when Rich Dockter and Spike Mustang gave me their suite which I shared with Peggy O and Mommy Cara (thanks to Rich and Spike: Here! This is an AOL inch). On Friday night, after the Meet & Greet, a bunch of us celebrated Midori’s boy Khadan’ s birthday with a big dinner at Buckhorn Exchange. We had Rocky Mountain Oysters, Rattlesnake, Alligator Tail as starters and I had Yak and Elk as my main course. Afterwards, we went to the dungeon and I played with Peggy. It was a very therapeutic scene – I used floggers and whips followed by fire and she cried a lot. She needed to cry. Om Saturday morning, teresa brought me coffee and took a nice morning caning from me.

I presented two workshops (How To Be A Greedy Pig and Fantasy Role Play) and I attended several workshops. Master Jim and slave marsha spoke of the central role of obedience in M/s relationships. Part of what was very interesting was how Master Jim has added a man in service to him and how that has caused him to rethink some of what he is doing now that he is an a poly relationship. Joseph Bean’s class on Mastery made us all think. Jason Ryan of San Diego did a good duct tape bondage workshop and I picked up a few new tricks to add to my repertoire. By the end of Sunday I was so tired I almost did not go to a workshop but at the last minute, I wandered into Sharrin Spector’s Advanced Caning class. Although I have been to her class before, I went in just for the shear entertainment of it – she did not disappoint.

I played a lot this year. On Saturday I did a rope suspension with Cara. I used a really nice bondage frame in the dungeon. It was so nice I went to the website to see how much it cost – too much for me! This time I had her face up with legs spread. I started chewing on her feet. This made her crazy and she yelped and squirmed. The squirming made the ropes rub against her in a most delightful way… She enjoyed struggling in the ropes and I enjoyed making her feel the ropes all over her body. Later I did a spanking/caning scene with The New Girl and made her giggle a lot. For the second night I stayed in the dungeon until its closing time.

On the Sunday, there was a Thunder After Party at a place called Denver Harbour. It was a nice play space with great equipment but it got very crowded. I grabbed a perfect spot as soon as we got here a bondage frame on the wall in a corner. I put teresa in a body harness and then attached her to the frame. FifthAngel had been telling us about Joseph’s Spirit Of The Dungeon class and mentioned how important symmetry was. Being the rebellious sort, I did the ropes asymmetrical and told FifthAngel that symmetry was for pussies. I also added rows of clips in an asymmetrical fashion as well. I think the asymmetry worked when totally unplanned my ropes ends met at theirs ends. I also had teresa guess how many clips I had on her. She guessed 53 but I had only put on 52, so I added one … to her septum. I warned teresa that there would be a little girl element to this scene. I spent a while threading cord thru the clips. She did not know what was happening when I started running away from her with the long cord. I giggled as all the clips came flying off; she screamed. Good thing that she was all tied up because she had trouble standing up on her own after that.

I had one other date. Last but certainly not least: Miss Elizabeth. The last time she bottomed to anyone was to me at MAL in January and now she wanted to play with me again! We did a yummy sensuous spanking and caning scene. I hope she will have time on her dance card for me at Dungeon 901

The funds needed to make the final $225,000 balloon payment have been raised.

The building was purchased and improved using donations from individuals, organizations, businesses and private foundations. No government grants were received to purchase the building. “This has been a grassroots fundraising effort since day one.” said LA&M President Chuck Renslow. “Our history is now safe behind walls owned by and controlled by the Leather community.”

The Leather Archives recognizes all donors to the campaign. “Whether you gave $5 or $50,000, you were a significant part of this victory” said Executive Director Rick Storer. A mortgage burning celebration is currently being planned for February of 2005.
