I spent a wonderful weekend up in Boston. Julia has an overwhelming collection of rope bondage books. I was intrigued by a book by Garth Knight. A lot of my earlier work was going down this path. Julia, Boymeat and Peggy will all remember some of my first rope suspensions with them were in this vein. At some point I got distracted by Shibari. But, now, I am inspired and want to go back and work on some of that freestyle rope again.

On Saturday night we stayed home and played with rope. It’s very relaxing just the two of us with nobody else. We could just gab and tie and figure out stuff together. It wasn’t like a sexy play scene but more like a journey together of discovery and experimentation. I didn’t copy exactly from the book but took some concepts and combined them in my own way. It came out really pretty and we tried to use it as a suspension and it was comfortable.

I really liked that we could spend time playing privately just the two of us. Too often we play at events and have to worry about the time so that we are not hogging the equipment for too long. Or I get self-conscious about experimenting because people will be watching and they will think that I don’t know what I’m doing. Maybe that sounds stupid, but one of the reasons I stopped this style was because a bondage mentor whom I respected was very negative about it. I am hoping to do some more exploring at camp!

I’ve been on a watermelon kick. But schlepping a 30 pound watermelon up a six floor walkup was not a brilliant idea.

Received chocolate covered gummy bears from Rita. These are my favorite! You can find them at Toys ‘R Us in Times Square.

Maybe I do like Brussels sprouts after all. Jefferson taught me how he cooks them. With bacon. That is one way to get me to eat them.

Don Quixote made cookies. I think he needs more practice. Yup, go back and do it again.

On Saturday, there were nine of us that went to see “Exposed: Experiments in Love, Sex, Death and Art” with Annie Sprinkle and Elizabeth Stephens. This show was performed at Collective: Unconscious in TriBeCa. This is a very déjà vu space for me because it used to be the Harmony, a strip club, and one Monday night in 1988, I went there for my first TES meeting. It was a not pleasant experience for me and I did not go back to TES until over a year later. Annie also reminisced about the old Harmony because she had also performed there back in the day. And she told us how Giuliani padlocked the door and that maybe if he got elected President, he would close more strip clubs allowing more theaters like this to open. Annie seems to always look at the bright side of life and even can make art about her breast cancer.

The show was fun and even interactive. I bared my breasts so Annie could take a Polaroid. I did it for art. I would tell you to go see the show, but the last performance was Saturday night.

After the show, I approached Annie about my 100 Divas project. I wanted to spank her. Her first question to me was whether I could include her partner, Beth. Of course, I thought that was a great idea. Unfortunately she was way too tired to do it then and they were leaving town the next day. She invited me to get in touch with her when I come to California. I sure will!

On April 30th, 2007 the Voting Membership of the Leather Archives & Museum ratified two new members to its Board of Directors. The new Directors are Hilton Flax of New York, NY and Matthias “Leatherbound” of Oosterbeek, The Netherlands. Chuck Renslow, President of the LA&M, said “Matthias and Hilton bring expertise and diversity to the leadership of the organization that will help serve our patrons and the community that supports us”.

Hilton Flax is the owner of Purple Passion fetish store in New York. He has been involved in the NYC leather and fetish scene for thirty years and served on the Board of The Eulenspiegel Society [TES] from 1981 to 1994. He has helped to plan many fetish fundraisers in New York including Leather Pride Night. Matthias “Leatherbound” has been coordinating European outreach and Road Show exhibitions for the LA&M since 2003. He served as a judge of the 2006 International Mr. Leather competition and is an associate member of Chicago Hellfire Club.
In addition to the new Directors, the following Directors were also reseated for an additional term: Chuck Renslow, Chicago, IL; Jon Krongaard, Chicago IL; Lawrence Fox, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Tom Stice, Chicago, IL.

Sometimes there’s drama and there’s nothing I can do about it. It erupts.

Some drama is like a train wreck. I am not involved. I watch it from afar. It can be fascinating and I wait for the other shoe to drop. Some people are like centipedes and there are 100’s of shoes to drop. And I watch. Plop, plop. It’s like a soap opera. There’s always a new installment.

Some drama is really vile. It’s like shit. I make sure I don’t step in it but it sure does stink. I walk away from that kind of drama. I just don’t want to see it or hear it or smell it. I walk away and don’t look back. My life is better without it.

Of course it was a great weekend at SMARTfest in Cleveland, Ohio, because I traveled with a guarantee: my Julia. Julia is always a great travel partner. The playspace was really nice warehouse with huge wooden structural beams. On Friday night we played. Julia set up a ring to a beam with a little piece of hardware that allowed the ring to spin. I had to be careful to not mark her. That is one of the issues when playing with a pro – often times they have to worry about marks. Most clients don’t like a bruised dominatrix.
