Friday night: A great way to begin the Leather Pride weekend was with a Lesbian Sex Mafia meeting. Afterwards we stopped at Starbucks and then some of us headed to the LURE in Exile party. I put my date in orange Hiatt handcuffs – her first time ever in handcuffs. I loved watching her struggle to balance her drink and her purse and shaking hands with people. Saturday night: Leather Pride Night at Splash! When you count staff, presenters and shift volunteers we had over 175 people who worked to help make this event happen. The place was packed to the gills, but for the most part, people were happy to be a part of it. It’s also a real gas to see huge segments of our whole community come together for this. The bar did well and they liked us. I just wish we could find a bigger venue. We are good customers and we make a lot of money to give to our beneficiaries.

Sunday: I was still doing LPN work at noon when I met up with more volunteers to load our stuff back into storage. Afterwards we went for brunch at Empire Diner (see a pic above of my fabulous plate). And then we headed over to Folsom Street East. It was very social and I got see a lot of people who I don’t see often enough. I flogged a hot boy before heading off to the LSM play party at Paddles. domn8dlady did a mini-renovation on my bathroom, but I now see this and am thinking that my bathroom still needs Something.

The LPN Volunteer Coordinator job is really crazy now. I’ve been getting people apologizing about canceling at the last minute and I get other people apologizing for wanting to volunteer at the last minute. I forgive everybody and now have only a very few shifts left. I have faith that somehow some way all the shifts will be filled.

Well, it seems like it’s Leather Weather here in NYC. I’m going to wear my chaps tonight. I’ll start with the LSM meeting at 8pm and then head out to the LURE in Exile party after that.
