Wow! My new Asus Eee PC 900
was delivered yesterday. It is a gift from a secret benefactor. This is so exciting! I am so lucky!
Look at how cute and sleek it is next to my clunky Gameboy. (Yes, I have a newer Gameboy, but this is the one I like best – I am a Tetris freak.)
So, now I can do a lot more writing when I am on the go. Maybe if I had this sooner I would have finished my IML posts by now….

Don Quixote and I are food shopping and sharing a cart.
At the checkout, I pull out all my stuff and begin to load it all on the conveyor belt.
“Are you together?,” the young clerk asks.
I am quick to retort, “No!”
DQ quips, “We just met. Here.”
“Trader Joes is better than OKCupid,” I add.
The clerk seems shocked, but after a minute he gets a huge grin on his face.
And he can’t stop grinning.

This is so weird. Apparently the secretive military leaders in Myanmar are superstitious and believe contact with women’s underwear will usurp their power. So women are sending their panties to them in order to protest the systemic violence against women by the ruling military junta. SRSLY.
The Wetspots will be performing at The Crucible in DC. They are so much fun!
NYC Opera has commissioned Charles Wuorinen for a new opera based on Brokeback Mountain. We’ll see it in the 2013 season.
A Pound of Flesh
by Susan Wright has just been reprinted and released in mass market paperback! Great book!
I get some interesting questions via email. Here’s one I got this week: “Any idea how many people in NYC are into bondage?”
My answer was, “My guess is at least 150,000 people.”
What do you think?

On Saturday night, the Women’s Meet & Greet overlapped with “Pecs and Personality” so I got there late and sat in the back. The 51 contestants were scantily clad and were each given a fun question to answer. I snuck up at one point to take this snapshot.

Hail, hail, the gang’s all here! AJ, Matt, Thor and son chris after Pecs & Personality.

Afterwards we went upstairs to the Leather Archives & Museum Silent Auction. Tables and tables of stuff. Boymeat scored that leather jacket. Here is AJ perusing the merchandise. She’s in her socks because she tried on a pair of boots which she bid on and won.

There were lots of gatherings on Saturday. We started off with the LJ meet-up hosted by mudcub. He brought his laptop so I posted a little shout out to LJ.

In the afternoon we made an appearance at the Leather Archives & Museum reception. This is Rick Storer, Director of LA&M, with Jay Harcourt from San Francisco.

And here’s Master Z with Chuck Renslow. Master Z runs two events in Chicago: Sinsations in Leather and Kinky Kollege. Chuck founded IML and the LA&M.

Chuck always cracks me up. The reception was held in his personal suite at the Hyatt, which was huge and fancy like a presidential suite. It even had a pool table and a fireplace. He told the hotel that he didn’t want such a big suite, just a regular room, but the hotel said he could have the suite for free, but if he wanted a room instead, he would have had to pay for that. So, he settled for this bad-ass suite.
Later on I went to the Women’s Meet and Greet (which was not just women). I didn’t really socialize there or notice much of what was happening there because I was busy beating on a boy. No pictures from that but here you can see what the boy looked like the next day.

Single baby boomers are enjoying better sex, are open to threesomes and are not looking to get married, according to a new poll.
I just found an old Newslink article online which reviewed a panel I was on at GMSMA on Orifice Restraints.
Shibaricon was also happening in Chicago during IML. I never made it over there, but here are some sexy rope bondage photos from that event. Takes a while to load. [link redacted]
More art from plastic bags.
Purple Passion has finished their renovations. They’re open again. Stop in and check it out.

During the daytime at IML, most of the action happens at the Vendor Mart. In addition to the shopping and the bootblacks, there’s a lot of socializing. I took some pictures of my favorite people.
Here’s a picture of Bear Man from Ft Leatherdale, who spent most of the weekend on the floor of the Bootwerks booth custom fitting Wescos. He is a huge supporter of the community sponsoring IML and the Bootblacks and giving us Leather Pride Night donations (a vest from Leatherwerks and several paddles from Paddlewerks). One of the nicest guys. Jason Hendrix is also in the photo. In addition to working for Bear Man, he is IML 2004 and a really friendly guy.

Here’s Lori at the Heartwood booth. Currently, she makes the best floggers on the market. Beautiful work. I took son chris there to buy a new flogger. He loved trying it out on Sparky. And, of course, she gave us one as a donation to Leather Pride Night. This is one of the most popular items at LPN.

Grant spent some time at the Folsom Street East booth. Lots of flirting and promoting going on there. Grant runs the Silent Auction at LPN.

Every day Jake spent a couple of hours giving haircuts in The Leather Man booth. Jakes runs Security at LPN.

(I know this is an IML post but can you tell I have LPN on the brain right now?)
Greg came over to the IML vendors market from the big bear event in town the same weekend. He bought some canes. He became interested in caning after seeing my class at GMSMA Leatherfest last November.

Anyone who fills out a consent form and makes a $4 donation to the Leather Archives & Museum can come to the IML Vendor Mart. Sometimes curious vanilla people are inspired by the experience. This video is hysterically funny!
