Edge used to be quite the internet presence. His website was renowned and even won him the title of Mr Internet Leather one year. He created the 100 Bloggers project and the remarkable Book of Edge. A few years ago, he pretty much dropped off the net, but I have kept in touch with him. He’s been busy with real life, and loves living in Wilton Manors, the gay ghetto of Ft Lauderdale.
I met up with him Sunday night at the Leatherwerks Holiday party. He was looking very svelte in his leathers. I was impressed by his weight loss and asked him how he did it. He told me he is not the type to go to a gym and he lost 50 pounds over a year by walking 6 or 7 miles a day. I am so inspired!
As serious a leatherman as he is, Edge can be silly at times. Doesn’t he make an appetizing hors d’oeuvre?
Jerry is a totally cool guy. He worked the shift at the port for our boat. When our ship departure was delayed 6 hours, it was not a big deal to us, but Jerry was stuck at work until we set sail. We were heroes because we brought him and his work buddies coffee.
On our third day out, two bottles of champagne were delivered to our stateroom. From Jerry. How sweet!

Jerry met us at baggage claim and expedited us past the lines and through customs like we were some kind of big deal. When we came out of the terminal, Leslie’s Jeep was parked right outside next to the Sheriffs’ cars. That’s rock star treatment! Thanks, Jerry!

We got to spend some time with Nayland Blake at his retrospective show, Behavior, at Location One. Here’s a video of him explaining one piece that is based on the Marquis De Sade’s Philosophy in the Bedroom.
Come to the Location One gallery on Friday, January 9. At 6pm, it will be a restaging of Nayland Blake’s 1998 performance piece “Gorge”. An hour-long performance during which the artist sits shirtless in front of a table full of food from which the audience is free to feed him. And at 8pm, there will be a series of performances by other artists in response to Blake’s work.
Yes, that is me at Macy’s with NYC’s New Years Eve ball. I won’t be spending any time with it tonight, neither in Times Square, nor on TV.
It’s cold and blustery here in NYC. Luckily, my plans are totally indoors with a small circle of friends. As is my usual, I will avoid the countdown, the ball drop, and the toasting and kissing.
One of the reasons I was very excited about going to Ft Lauderdale was because I would get to see Son Chris again and be able to spend time with him. He was excited, too. A few months ago Daddy Derrick decided to take care of the planning and surprise him. I agreed to leave it all up to him.
And everybody lied to Chris. He was told that I would not get there until late Sunday. When he wrote to me and told me that the was excited about my visit, I was a nasty bitch. I wrote back that I would try to ft him into my very busy schedule.
We actually got in on Saturday evening. Derrick took Chris to Lester’s Diner and we went too. At first he thought that he was running into Peggy, Leslie and teresa by accident (I was hiding behind the car). But then I jumped out and surprised him.
To add to the surprise, we all stayed at Daddy Derrick’s house for a big slumber party.
