My neighborhood has been invaded with politicians recently as they campaigned for the primaries here in NYC. I took an opportunity to speak face to face with one of the more liberal guys in my district. I asked him abut several NY State issues, like the death penalty, marriage equality and the Ground Zero Mosque. He answered those with ease. And then I asked him about his stand on sex workers. He quickly came back with a statement on human trafficking, but he had no policy on sex worker’s rights. I told him that sex work and human trafficking were not the same. He had no idea, so I explained it to him. He told me he would research it further and I went on my way happy that I raised some awareness.
Basically the difference between sex work and human trafficking is consent. There are people out there who do not think women could possibly consent to doing sex for money (and they never talk about the male sex workers of which there are plenty).
Does this begin to sound familiar to you? This has been the exact same problem that the BDSM community had, and still has, to a great extent. BDSM activists, namely folks from the NCSF, have been browbeating journalists, therapists, politicians and anyone else who would listen with the phrase “consenting adults” and that message is beginning to get through.
There’s still a lot of work we have to do to educate people. A lot of that work is talking to people one on one.

A new monthly meetup for anyone who is interested in sexuality has been created. The organizers enjoy the flexible style that comes from KinkForAll-style presentations and have opted to mimic that style for part of the meeting, but they also enjoy the depth that an hour-long presentation or demo can bring
The first DSD meeting will be at the LGBT Center, Room 410 / Thursday, Sept. 9th, 8-10pm. It’s open to everyone! Sliding Scale: $0 – 7.
Dov will be presenting for one hour on Crazy Glue Invisible Bondage and Infibulation!
Crazy glue is steeped in the depths of urban legends of late night rushes to the emergency room to unglue hapless victims who didn’t heed the warning on the label: “WILL BOND SKIN INSTANTLY.” This class is about demystifying this fun pervertible for mindfucks. We will discuss and demonstrate many wonderful perversions with this super-strength glue for bondage. We will also cover safety issues, some theory/chemistry of its function, and its intended medical usage.
After the lead presentation, DSD participants will give their own presentations and start conversations about topics they want to teach and/or learn about.
There is no need to sign-up!

So, last night I was watching this video of this guy talking about how he went in to the Mr. S store in San Francisco and got lucky with one of the salesmen there. Well, it got me thinking that here I am working in the premiere fetish store in NYC and I just do not get hardly any fun sexy experiences when I’m working there.
My luck turned around today. Don Quixote walked in. It was day six for him wearing this chastity device, which he purchased from Mr. S. I was towards the back of the store lacing a customer into a corset but I yelled over, “Show Al your chastity device. She needs to see it because we are getting those in soon.”
I didn’t watch because I was busy lacing the corset, but the customer had heard me speak and was now interested as well. She wanted to see it, too. I did not want to be rude to a customer, so, I called out to him, “DQ! Come back here and show your device to my customer!”
DQ came into the back area. He was blushing so much. But he obediently dropped his trousers and showed it to her. My customer was very curious and DQ had to show her the underside as well.
This device is very discreet. Nobody knows that DQ is wearing it under his clothes. Unless, of course, I decide to show it off.
Legal disclosure: If you click on the chastity link and buy a device of your own, I do get a small commission.

“I want to be an object at some point during the weekend.” Don Quixote told me.
An object? I thought about that. The first thing that popped into my head was a footstool. That’s classic. But it is also boring. I thought about what kind of object I really wanted and an idea came to me: a robot!
I love when DQ tells me what he wants, but does not tell me specifics. It allows me to be creative. I do love to think things out and plan. My robot could not be too complicated because he would not be able to take too many different commands. I planted two remote control bullets on him. One was vet-wrapped on to his balls. This was the stop and go command. The other was vet-wrapped to his chest. This was the command to turn right. Having just these commands kept things very simple. So, he was a New Jersey robot. In order to go left, he would have to make three right turns, like a jughandle.
My robot was very pink. He wore hot pink frilly pettipants. The vet wrap holding the vibrating bullets in place was also hot pink. I used more hot pink vet wrap to wrap his head so that he could not see. I layered rope on his chest pinning his arms above the elbow. I could manually move his lower arms so that he could hold things. I had him carry my water bottle for me. I also added rope over his frilly pettipants and a bar wrap between his ankles so that he could not take big steps. As a finishing touch, I decorated my robot with brightly colored glow sticks bands. Because every robot needs to have lights!
When my robot was put together, I took him for a spin in the massive dungeon. I tried out the commands and he was very responsive. My remote controls worked up to 25 feet away so at first it was not apparent to onlookers that he was being controlled. There were quite a few confused people. “How does that work?” I showed them the controls that made him stop, go and turn. They were very amused.
My robot was not perfect. First of all, he did not walk perfectly straight. He seemed to always go off a little to the right. Also, his right turns were not perfect 45 degree angles. It took quite a bit of navigation skills to maneuver him through the dungeon. I could not allow him to walk through people’s scenes! Most of the time I had him on a zigzag course, like a sailboat tacking against the wind.
This was my most favorite scene at The Floating World.
