Ball Dance

July 4th, 2007 · No Comments

On Thursday night at Leather Retreat, Momma Bear (aka Sharrin Spector) invited me to participate in a ball dance by the bonfire. We gathered on the porch after the Cigars & Chocolates gathering and then headed down to the fire pit.

Every night at camp, the fire pit has two fires. One is a smaller more intimate fire which is most useful for toasting marshmallows for s’mores. The other fire is huge and very hot so you can’t get too close. On Thursday night, there were a lot of people down at the fire pit. There were drummers drumming. Some people danced naked around the fire and some danced dressed as tribal belly dancers. Others were spinning fire poi. One person had a kevlar bullwhip which, after he soaked it with gas and lit it, he cracked it. (Wow, I wanna try that.) One of the belly dancers had fire fans that were really beautiful. Other people sat on benches and watched.

Momma Bear set up her kit on the picnic table. She sutured bells onto five of us, including herself. I picked 6 big bells, a combo of gold and purple bells. Two were sewed onto my chest, two on my back and one on each arm.

A ball dance is a ritual where fruits (like lemons or limes), weights and/or bells are sewn on and people dance and feel the weights bounce. At first the dancers move tentatively, but as the endorphins kick in, they can dance more actively until they lose the adornments. The first time I saw a ball dance, it was part of a performance piece by the artist, Ron Athey, and I was fascinated. Since then I have participated several times.

It was so liberating to dance by the big bonfire, under the stars, and surrounded by people who were important to me. I loved the sounds of the bells and the drumming. It was a magical experience.

I vant to be alone

June 30th, 2007 · No Comments

Today I crashed. I was supposed to go to a party today and just did not go. I feel bad about blowing it off. It was a going away party for a friend. But I just could not motivate. I couldn’t move.

Sometimes I need to hole up and be alone and not do anything. To just veg out. Not even putter about. And, oy, there is a lot of puttering about that needs to happen here. But I am not caring.

I am figuring that is the post-LPN followed too closely by Leather Retreat crash. I’ll get over it.

Right now I have a hot date to get ready for. Must pack toys. Must put on clothes. I’m sure I will get a second wind as soon as I leave the house.

Floggings, food and other miscellaneous stuff

A public flogging at Folsom Street East. I had no idea this was being taped.

Wendy talks about the flogging I gave her at Jefferson’s last orgy.

Will Katz’s close? Oh, no!

So, walking home last night I noticed a new yellow awning on 85th Street: Dean’s Pizzaria. A little research turns up a review in the NY Times. Must go try!

I am particularly giggling about the pig and the snail.

Lux Nightmare talks about threesomes. I love threesomes!

Grant Stoddard, the man who came up with the ManFlesh moniker for Boymeat, gets marooned on a deserted island right here in the harbor!

You can read it in the Sunday paper

June 28th, 2007 · No Comments

This year’s Flamingo Times rocked. It was funny. People talked about it. They rushed to see it every morning because they wanted their morning laugh. The publisher was very happy with the results. I was pleased because I had recommended the new editor-in-chief for the job.

I had a “special” subscription to the paper. Special, because I was sleeping with the editor-in-chief. If I was up late enough, I had my copy before retiring, but most often it was there on my bed when I woke up. Last year I ran an ad in the paper for the Amazing Animal Show. Due to the success of that ad, I requested an ad for this year’s Barnyard Animal Show.

I looked for my ad in the Saturday paper and it wasn’t there. “Where’s my ad?”
“Whoops! I forgot.”
“Whoops, you forgot? Just who am I supposed to blow to get my ad in?”
“Um, sorry. It will go in Sunday’s paper.”

It was early and I was pre-coffee. I decided to let it go. Well, just for a little while.

Later, at some point, don’t ask me when. It was one of those spontaneous things, not planned at all. Often the best times. It was in the common room. I spanked him. Only spanking just wasn’t enough. monica was there. “Get me a cane, would ya?”
She came back with Sharrin’s cane case and started to hand me a Stuart cane.
“No, no, no. Not that. I want a Diane Chaney cane.”
“Ooh! You want a mean one.”
“That’s right.”

I caned him hard. I had only caned him once before. It had been his first caning and I had been nice and I had given him a warm-up. He had liked that caning. I know for sure because it had given him a hard-on. This time I didn’t care if he liked it or not.

The Usual (not!)

June 26th, 2007 · 1 Comment

This is the post where I say how great Leather Retreat was. And long time readers think, “Yeah, yeah, she says that every year.”

But, no, really, this year was unbelievably wonderful.

I truly believe that the camp experience is greatly affected by who is in your cabin. I was surrounded by my leather family and other assorted loved ones, play partners and friends. I was delighted to see them all get along and make connections with each other. And I wallowed in the joy of it all.

Over the years I have discovered that you don’t need a lot of cabin rules. In fact Oink only has one rule: Don’t slam the cabin door. It almost sounds too simple, but when you start with a bunch of people who value the absence of drama, are naturally considerate and open to sharing, it’s a slam dunk. (And even when somebody drops a pie, that situation can be resolved with a spanking.)

I approached this camp with fewer planned playdates, which left me a lot more room for spontaneity. I overpacked and that left me with a lot of play options, some of which were never touched. I only played twice in the dungeon. Most of my play was outside and in and around the cabin. We spent a lot of time hanging out on the porch. There was even a seven person orgy on the front porch on Wednesday night that included fisting and spanking and ball bondage and feet and who knows what else. It sure set the tone for the rest of the weekend.

All this activity drew some stalkers, gawkers and other hangers-on. There was even a bold poacher whom I may write about later. I am still a bit overwhelmed by all that happened at camp. And all that just was at camp, and at Oink.

Oh! We won a cabin decorating ribbon: the Safeword Award. It’s not that we decorate so much; we are mainly interested in our comfort and pleasure. We had lights, rugs, lots of camp chairs, a sling and a grill. But we are proud to be The Award Winning Oink Cabin!
