Over at WNYC, Brian Lehrer has this project comparing prices on milk, lettuce and Budweiser beer.

I have my own little project about the 25 oz size of Honey Nut Cheerios:
Fairway at Broadway and 74th Street: $5.99
Associated at Amsterdam and 97th Street: $6.89
Gristedes at 96th Street near Broadway: $8.49

So, I am trying to shop at Fairway as much as possible. But that’s not all.

Gristedes is owned by John Catsimatidis. He is a fucking price gouger. A registered Democrat, he is planning to run in the 2009 NYC Mayoral race as a Republican. I will do more price comparisons and campaign against him. This post is just a start. It’s still a bit early.
