The Sexrerati were all at the Sexerati Party last night. It was packed. I stayed downstairs most of the time and missed a lot of people who were upstairs. I got Tristan’s Opening Up
book and she signed it for me.

On Saturday evening, we went to Sidecar in South Park Slope, Brooklyn. It was oh so totally yummy and I would definitely go back. I loved the menu because it was a small list and then I know that the kitchen won’t be overwhelmed. I hate big menus!
There were nine of us, so we split several small plates for the table: Chicken Liver Pate on Crostini to die for, a salt cod Brandade spread, Bean Dip with bacon, and a special of Gravlax. Seven of us ordered the Fried Chicken which was to die for. I don’t usually order fried chicken unless it is really good (crispy and moist) and I would definitely order it again. It was served with kale with bacon and mashed roots, both perfectly prepared. Totally delicious. Two others ordered the sidecar sandwich and I had a bite of that and it was also worthy of praise. We finished off the evening splitting chocolate pudding and apple cobbler. Excellent! I would go back.
We waited on the patio for our table.

Boymeat salivates.

I obviously have yet to get the hang of taking a photo of me and my friends,
but I really like this picture anyway. It’s got that
let’s all squeeze into a photo-booth feel to it.

On Friday morning, Daddy and I took the bus to visit Kink.com. I was very excited about the visit because I love their work and I am an affiliate of theirs.
The place is huge! 200,000 square feet! It was built in 1914 for the National Guard which used it until 1976. Shortly after, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It’s been underutilized since then. Some of the Star Wars scenes were shot there, the San Francisco Opera used the drill court for set construction and various development proposals over the years were denied. Kink.com was in the news last year when they paid $14 million for the San Francisco Armory. The residents of the Mission District originally did not want the porn company in the neighborhood but it seems like Kink.com is trying hard to be a good neighbor. This weekend they are hosting the Mission Bazaar, an event with crafts and performances. It will be the first time the Armory is open to the public in over 30 years.
We were met in the lobby by famous author Thomas Roche, who works as Kink.com‘s Public Relations Manager. He was very friendly and gave us the tour.
Look at this huge toy room. Thomas told us that it was “a bit bare because most of the stuff is being used in shoots.”
This photo does not do justice to the wide array of props that Kink.com stores here. This is just a small sliver.
There are lots of rooms that are built out as sets and more were being built as we toured around. We steered clear of most of the sets that had people shooting or working on them.
This is the gymnasium, which is huge. They were working on lighting set-up in here. We were also shown the swimming pool that had been filled in. There is actually a fresh water stream that runs through the building (in case of a siege). Van Darkholme was working in that area, but I could not take a photo there. Kink.com has 91 employees and not all of them are “out” so I was not allowed to take pictures of them without asking first. We also did not want to interrupt their work.
Each room has a lot of different nooks and crannies that can be shot in. They really use the space well.
Of course, there’s a classroom. That’s classic!
Many thanks to Thomas and to Kink.com for giving me and my Daddy a behind the scenes tour.

IMsL kicked off on Thursday night with the Seduction event. This was a sexy combination of performances on stage as well as lapdances in the audience. The money raised went to National Coalition for Sexual Freedom, Leather Archives & Museum, the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund and the IMsL/IMsBB titleholder travel fund.
Midori emceed as a blond. (Note the ASL interpreter.)

There were many compelling performances.
And even drag kings.
And Carol Queen doing a reading.
And BC Cliver stripping and flexing on stage.
And lapdancers working the audience.
And working my Daddy.
Even slave marsha was working it.

So, what is IMsL? It is an acronym for International Ms. Leather and it’s pronounced im-zul.

Glenda Rider is the Executive Producer.
That’s Levi Halberstadt on her lap. Levi is Associate Producer.
IMsL is a title that it is in its 22nd year. The companion title is International Ms. Bootblack, which is in its 10th year. The contest is the centerpiece of the weekend event. Pretty much everyone goes to see the contest on Saturday night, but it is really only one of the components of a very full weekend that attracts over 600 people (mainly women). It’s like a big three day reunion with classes, parties, special events and a 24 hour play space. And, of course, it is right in San Francisco.
I didn’t do everything but I’m writing about a few of the things I did do.

I flew in to the Bay Area a little early so that I could spend some quality non-event time with my leather family. They just bought an amazingly cute house in Oakland and have been discovering the neighborhood.

The next day we went to Ole’s for a waffle breakfast. Yum!
