Earlier this week, we headed over to Candida Royalle’s release party. Not that kind of release; it was the release of her new DVD, Under The Covers. Not my usual milieu but there’s a few significant points I want to mention.
– This porn is made by a woman. Yay! More power to women. And maybe women-made porn won’t be as stupid as other porn.
– This porn is aimed at the couples market. While I think porn is good for solo wanking (and I do that myself), porn to inspire two or more people to get it on is really good
– Candida took on an apprentice producer/co-writer, Jamye Waxman. Hurray for mentorship!
– This porn was made in NYC. Too much of the porn biz has moved out west.
– There was an open bar. Better yet there was a really cute bartender that all my friends were hot and heavy for. I won’t mention who got silly drunk and climbed up on the bar to flirt. Thankfully she was wearing pants and not a skirt.
– We all got goody bags with a copy of the DVD, condoms, lube, batteries and a waterproof vibrator. I have not yet viewed the DVD but, oh, I love that new little vibrator.
